Detroit, MI—Direct Financial, a division of New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU), recently announced the winner of its 2021 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Scholarship:

Payton Bucki will graduate from Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan this month. Payton plans to attend the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and will major in Human Biology.

Each year, Direct Financial awards one STEM Scholarship of $3,000. To be eligible for a Direct Financial STEM Scholarship, applicants must be Direct Financial members. In addition, applicants must be pursuing one of these fields of study:

  • Biological Sciences
  • Physical Sciences
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Computer and Information Sciences
  • Geosciences
  • Engineering
  • Technology areas associated with the preceding fields of study.

 The scholarship is awarded to the applicant who best demonstrates commitment to the chosen field of study.
